About this deal

As a previous lover of Yours Truly, I felt like this one had the same recipe for success (minus the miscommunication which I see being a major perk for many). When Kate offers to spruce up Vale Volumes ready for the visit of a famous author, they find they have a lot more in common than colour schemes. From the bestselling author of Yours Truly comes a story about a summer fling, a complicated family and unexpected feelings.

Fans of Abby Jimenez will be thrilled with "Just for the Summer," a punchy and heart-warming romance that delivers enough of an emotional edge to feel real. I think Abby may have outdone herself with this one - while I have loved everything she has written, her last three books have each blown me away and each one has gotten better than the last. So said grandkids pretend to date to get their grandmas off their back while they work on other stuff. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. And as genuine attraction begins to grow between Emma and Justin, the end of her assignment in Minnesota looms large.

Most of what is going on his below the surface, and I liked it, because there is no "other woman" or "other man", which is often introduced to create false conflict.

A sharp and scintillating summer novel that will make listeners laugh out loud and cry happy tears from the New York Times bestselling author of Yours Truly. So when Amber is “getting better” and Emma wants to give her another chance, Maddy sees right through the BS—and is right, of course—but that strained the relationship for a quick minute there.Justin and Emma were such relatable characters and it was exciting and easy to watch their relationship unfold. While this wasn't my favorite Jiminez book, I found it to be a compulsive page-turner and immediately connected to the characters. The blurb leads you to believe this is a less misogynist Good Luck Chuck, but the curse storyline was ultimately insignificant. Emma needed to work on herself and I was beyond proud of her for realizing that she’d only become the person she hated the most (Amber) to Justin’s siblings if she stayed. Abby has the way of writing that evokes so much empathy her characters - you become so invested in their lives and feel all their emotions.
