About this deal

Anything with the word “wheat” in the title will contain gluten, one of the 3 main sources of gluten. Recipes on flour bags (in my humble opinion) rarely produce bread that tastes anything like real bread.

Bake for 55-60 minutes until it is risen and golden (tip - if the top of loaf starts to catch then place some foil over it). You could add seeds you like but personally I liked the mixture to add different colours and textures to my gluten free seeded loaf. Our suppliers have declared that both non GM corn and soya are used as a starting product, but are stated by the factory as not present in the finished Xanthan Gum product. This gluten free bread is best eaten fresh from the oven (after 30 mins to cool) - otherwise it is best toasted. Freee were one of the first companies to introduce Gluten Free Flour to the UK and now proud to be the gluten free community's favourite. Therefore you should always check product labels before use, and not rely solely on the information presented here. It's a basic gluten free brown bread recipe which will suit your needs for a sandwich or slice of toast in the morning.

The best thing you can do is bake this brown seeded bread with enough time to give it 30 minutes-to-an-hour to cool before you eat it. I will not be using 3 again again (large loaf)as it turns out just like old fashioned Hovis and you really would not notice the difference. You'll know the bread is done if you tip it out of the tin and tap on each surface - it should sound hard and hollow. Doves Brown Bread gluten free flour is a popular naturally gluten free flour blend to give an even better rise and lovelier texture. Recently I noticed Instant yeast on my supermarket shelf and purchased it instead of my usual dry yeast.Unfortunately my hand slipped when I was adding the gelatine so ended up with 17g instead of 7g, so they didn't rise quite as beautifully as when I made it in the loaf tin – still tasty though. Also I don't use any vinegar (personal preference), only use 1 egg, 4 tblspns olive oil and only 1 teaspoon sugar. The culprit ingredient was the Carob in the flour - I am allergic to peanuts and soya and Carob is a relative to these, a legume. This simple gluten free seeded bread is simple to make at home and can be baked in the oven with little effort.
