As part of our RGB series of gaming PCs this unit comes with a fully controllable RGB lighting system which allows you to change the colour of your fans and LED strips with nearly infinite variations, all from the convenience of a remote control unit.
The overall quality is certainly up to Fractal’s usual standards, but the thought that went into this is easily visible. Fortunately, as I’ll get into a little later, that is far from the experience you get with this enclosure.The entire left side of the case is devoted to the graphics card, so GPUs up to 322mm long will fit. Slats are more prone to causing fan noise issues due to the angle of entry created – something true of the O11 Dynamic also. If you are interested in mini iTX enclosures, you should check out the Lian Li Q58 and the Ssupd Meshlicious. While the other half would flow across the GPU, you wouldn’t really see any meaningful temperature differences, plus you would lose a large portion of the cable management space this case provides.
Works great so far, although CPU thermals are a bit concerning - it was hitting 100°C just booting Overwatch 2 on the first boot. The movable spine means that GPU and CPU cooler clearances are variable based on spine position, enabling sacrificing space for one to give to the other. Because of this, we recommend removing the door entirely any time you build or do maintenance that’s more involved than just plugging something in. The front panel features a small strip of wood along the bottom where the limited front I/O is located -- the type of wood depends on the case color. To determine how much the side panels are restricting air, we next tested with the side doors fully opened: Here, the P-Cores dropped by 3 degrees, so that should be considered our best possible outcome with this setup. I really love the Terra's looks and size and it seems to be one of the few SFF cases that are widely available right now from a mainstream dealer. I'm worried I may have applied too much thermal paste, although I don't know if that would be causing any problems temperature-wise.
The absolute number doesn’t matter much here -- remember that you can control your fans to affect the noise, and this case has no fans, so all we’re really testing is how the cooler fans interact with the case panels.
