The rules are less convoluted, yet there is still plenty of flavor and character packed into the rules. The cultists box comes with the same base sprue as the soldiers, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. This model was painted Black Grey, Washed with a Dark Wash and then highlighted with outlines of Black Grey.Most of the arms work well, but I found that there is an uncomfortable juxtaposition when you put a cultist arm and a soldier arm on the same mini. It's not that you can't make a great warband with it, but you are going to have a tough time making some mercenaries. They normally come from the lowest rung of society and have few useful s and little combat training.

The barbarians are bulkier for sure and are good stand ins for Chaos Marauders, and even Marauder Horsemen pieces seem at home on them. I actually kept a Sprue of 5 figures aside waiting for new books in case a new soldier type emerges that I would like to build with a cultist theme. If you have some bits at hand to create a command section, you could use these with Kings of War or Oathmark to build some living units for the evil or undead armies.
