About this deal

A few weeks ago I reviewed a legend among beer drinkers – alcohol-free Stella which was surprisingly decent so it was with a degree of optimism that I tried another legend within the beer world – alcohol-free Budweiser (aka Bud Zero.

Non-alcoholic alternatives to booze have been around for a while, but the sector has been booming lately. You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included. Soccer fans will still be able to purchase Bud Zero, an alcohol-free lager that Anheuser-Busch says tastes similar to its best-selling alcoholic beverage. It is brewed with premium Budweiser barley, hop and malt through the same expert Beachwood ageing technique that delivers the smoothness of Budweiser, as well as a revolutionary 4x-cold-filtration process. That trend has recently extended into the beer market as both large and small companies rediscover non-alcoholic beers.this is a good option for anyone who really can’t have even that amount of alcohol for health reasons or sobriety. Budweiser Zero has been positioned to replace Prohibition Brew in the company’s product range, and gauging from the short three year gap between the two product launches, it appears that the former beer wasn’t too popular with consumers. I created this site in 2020 to help people navigate the world of alcohol-free drinks out there – the good AND the bad. The Bud name carries so much weight to it, and this product is going to benefit from instant consumer recognition,” Bryant said, adding that the Bud name is “certainly going to spur trial among some consumers” who otherwise might not have tried it.

Pouring the beer we get a pale golden colour, similar to it’s big brother, with a thin film of a head. Athletic Brewing, for instance, is a small craft brewery that only makes zero-alcohol beers and doubled production to keep up with demand. But it’s not a patch on other low-cost non-alcoholic lagers like Free Damm or even AB-InBev’s own Stella Artois Alcohol-Free and Beck’s Blue. That said, with AB-InBev’s marketing budget behind it, Zero could help raise the profile of low alcoholic beer in general.Budweiser Zero is thirst-quenching but so light bodied it lacks some of the pale lager’s more prominent characteristics. While Budweiser Zero has some merits even for a big brewer mass-produced n/a beer, it's not without its drawbacks. It’s mild on the nose, light on hop bitterness, with some faint notes of grain and the rice used in the brewing process, a part of the brand's long-standing tradition. Some maltiness emerges eventually, characterised by sweet and sickly honey and a touch of sweetcorn.

But if you're not in the mood for alcohol (and don't feel like mixing up a mocktail), there's another option: Budweiser's new alcohol-free beer, Budweiser Zero. It is indeed slightly awkward for AB InBev, which is a major sponsor of the World Cup, and was planning to selling regular Bud. Budweiser “Zero” (previously known as ‘Prohibition Brew’) is created by Anheuser-Busch, part of AB InBev and uses the classic beer ingredients of water, barley malt, hops, rice (a fermentable ingredient used for a subtle taste) and natural flavours.Reviews marked with † feature beers I didn't pay for (usually because the producers gave them to me for free). Fast-forward almost 100 years and prohibition came back, this time as the name of Budweiser’s take on alcohol-free beer.
