About this deal

And to be honest, I think that extra time processing both helped me to enjoy volume 7 more than I would have otherwise. Sayaka's arc wasn't just a loose thread to be tied though, it was meaningful character growth for both her and Nanami, and something I think was handled very well. By the time my copy had arrived, I had rewatched the anime, but still felt I needed to reread volume 6. In another part of the flashback, Miyako assumes that Hakozaki was only drunk and wasn't really interested in women and avoids her. the story and characters here are excellent, and while it may seem like your typical high-school yuri romance, I was surprised several times throughout.

The next volume is the last one, and I'm really hoping for some good resolutions for all out characters! A lot of transgender people find this experience with people who wanted a one time sexual exploration, but aren't really interested in long-term relationships with a transgender person. Fortified by the knowledge that she is choosing to do what she wants to for herself, so she can grow from it, Sayaka finally confesses her feelings to Touko. I was cheering for them as they raced to make this final connection, to make what we have been waiting for throughout this entire series happen.

Miyako takes Sayaka on a reconnaissance mission and for the first time, Sayaka gets to talk to someone like her, and see what life can become. It’s the perfect note of hope going into the finale of one of not only the best yuri series, but best manga in general. Still, watching Sayaka tripping down the steps with joy after the scene in the viewing area made me very happy.

I think it may be one of the strongest volumes for that, probably the least cliche'd and more genuine. Despite a lot of concern and criticism with Yuu finally confessing to Touko at the end of volume 6 and the "inevitability" of their relationship by the time the series ends in volume 8, I still think Yuu provides that representation, which I'll discuss later in this review.Yuu has always loved shoujo manga and fantasizes about the day that, she, too, will get a love confession that will send her heart a flutter. We're finally reaching a point where Yuu and Touko are figuring out their feelings and what they want their relationship to look like, which is so nice after so many volumes. I feel that door was closed for Yuu earlier than this, but the whole sequence is definitely important for her as a character.
