About this deal

Lee is very deserving of this accolade, and will have his rightful place in a pantheon of legendary crime authors who have achieved this honour.

I’m so honored to be able to reveal the cover for Vanessa Lillie’s buzz-worthy new mystery here on CBTB today! Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. There’s no better time to watch a slasher movie—or read a slasher book—than October, and if your idea of perfect Halloween entertainment involves villains like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger, the book I’m recommending today is the Halloween read for you. It is entirely evident after reading this that Ms Quinn has never stepped foot in a Utah desert, knows nothing about mainstream Mormons, and very little about Fundamentalist Mormons. The book begins with Blake, an FLDS member, and over-the-top doomsday prepper (what a great combo), found dead on his remote Utah ranch. If she had her way she'd wear her favorite curve-hugging leopard print dress to Scott's funeral; he loved her in that dress! Huge thanks to Vanessa and her publisher for giving us this early sneak peek—I can’t wait to read BLOOD SISTERS this fall!

My crime and my actions will seem cold and heinous to everyone else because they can never know what I felt. The wives have nothing in common except for being married to Blake; until each is suspected of killing him. I completely acknowledge that it is always preferable to start a series at the beginning, but in this case, I’m so glad I dove in with BLACK WIDOW.Blake's first wife, Rachel, is a committed traditional Mormon, but also fully believes in the plural marriage doctrine.

This is the quintessential whodunit, with revealing and tantalizing hints at each story shift from present to past and from changing views of principal characters. Still on the mend from a turbulent divorce, Jack's investigation into matters of the heart takes him to hidden places no one should ever have to go. Yet it takes only hours for her life to crumble when her personal details are released on the Internet as revenge for her writing. He is the author of the Jack Parlabane thriller series, which has sold over 1 million copies in the UK alone, and the acclaimed Jasmine Sharp and Catherine McLeod novels. Patterson boils a scene down to the single, telling detail, the element that defines a character or moves a plot along. Also, I do have to put caution out there for more sensitive readers: While nothing is told in first person or completely graphic in nature, the novel does contain numerous references to more extreme fetishes, so to speak, and abuse to minors. They all had their own little secrets but it just wasn't enough to have me interested in what happened to any of them. When the love of her life, Mickey Calvey, is gunned down on a job gone wrong, Linda resolves to carry on his work.

Stacy Willingham’s masterful use of dual timelines adds intrigue and atmosphere to this compelling mystery, while her immersive writing draws readers into our protagonist’s increasingly unstable state of mind.Ranked from Christmas level 1 - 5 (with Level 1 being Christmas in the background of the story, and Level 5 being a full-on, 100% Christmas-y plot! Marvel Platinum proudly presents the very best Black Widow stories from the House of Ideas, including her first appearance and initial battles with Iron Man! Author Elly Griffiths, one of the judges for the Theakston prize, admitted that she hadn’t see them coming. I’m pretty sure I say this every year, but 2022 has truly been another outstanding year for crime fiction readers.
