About this deal

This is thankfully in my opinion not potentially cloying like it, but I find it even sweeter than Joop Homme, so know that if you tend to get nauseous or dizzy by overly sweet fragrances. Very long lasting, I did 6 sprays at 8am in the morning, now 5:30 and still I get the sugary burning woody vibes when I move around. When you're lucky these types of Oudh give you a smoky wood, a tropical fruity fragrance or something that's closer to leather or Cedar. As said earlier, my fragrance isn't as it should be yet, but being reintroduced to half its pyramid did jiggle my olfactory memory. I say go for this one, unless you’re after that burning wood scent, which is definitely perfected in BTF.

I thought it would grow on me but on the contrary, everytime i go back to it i find myself enjoying it less. Smells like a Coca Cola type of Oud, slightly synthetic feeling and didn’t work out for me and turned unbearable on my skin.I wonder if I should just lubricate myself with fuel since analyzing my other reviews you can clearly see I like the smell.

This Arabian Oud gift set will be perfect for every occasion- birthdays, anniversaries, and for him and her. I can really say that its clone of replica by the fireplace because it dont have that smokiness that by the fireplace has.

So they say don't judge a book by it's cover and that is the first thing ill say about this fragrance. more like a hidden note that whispers from time to time and keeps you wondering about where this intoxicating smell coming from . There is a weird in-between point in the dry down where it goes from the initial sweetness to the woods where it just smells like a chemical jumble.

The oudh is of course synthetic (as most are), but unlike a quality oudh facsimile this one doesn't hide its origins very well. The fragrance projects a long way without being over powering but I would use a moderate number of sprays. But the sweet notes in this are so much like brown sugar I can’t say no to this it is fall and winter for sure I have to see how this performs in the heat but I have burned through an eighth of the bottle in less than a month so I may have to get another by the time the weather warms. In complete drydown, the woody oud takes center stage, leaving a legacy that's both memorable and mesmerizing. What I smell in By the Fireplace is marshmallows forgotten on metal skewers just at the point of burning over a roaring fire in a slate fireplace. Each comparison is like revisiting an old friend, familiar yet always revealing some new, hidden feature. I don't know what it smells like notes-wise other than sweet, salty, smokey and roasted, because it's very synthetic-smelling. Especially in the dry down, it's surprisingly floral, which I guess may be the "herbal" notes in the base interacting with other ingredients but it is actually really nice and may make this wearable even in warmer weather.

If not for the long dry down wait and chemical opening I would give this a 10 but that's not the case.this is among the most dramatic fragrances I own , and despite the fact that most of fragrance community consider this is as a (By the fire place clown ) I think it has it's own character and there is a lot going on and is far from being linear.
