The Spider Gremlin has a ball-jointed head, neck, legs, abdomen, and full sets of knees (his legs have more than one joint).

Once you've done that it's easy, and you soon have a massive spider gremlin ready to cause havoc in your house. When I got it out of the box and assembled I was gobsmacked by how good it is, so if you're thinking about getting one just do it; you won't regret it. The package is surprisingly small, considering what's inside, which is good for storage and shelf space. It looks like some reconfiguring of the toy room is going to be required because the gremlins need new digs. I am still admiring newly found details in every tooth, tail stinger, and leg spike on this bad boy.

In fact, while it might be the best part, it is also the source of my major pain point with this guy – where the heck am I going to put him? The articulation is nothing to sneeze at either, and while the figure has all of the standard points of most of the NECA gremlins, it also adds a movable jaw(! Well, the fact remains that, no matter the timing, the brand new Spider Gremlinfrom NECA is a lock for a “best of the year” candidate, and it is most certainly a masterpiece. I cannot decide if the sculpt or the paint applications are more impressive, but both of them are at the top of the heap for any action figure I have gotten recently.

The paint and sculpting on the figure is fantastic, and NECA have really done a fine job of bringing this guy to life, so much so that I could imagine young kids or arachnophobes being quite freaked out by him. Each leg is articulated at several points, with additional joints at the arms, one in the body and at the jaw (all monster toys should get moving jaws!
