An electronic 3-stage impact power selection (Hard/Medium and Soft) deliver a huge maximum torque of 1,000Nm and a nut busting torque of 1,600Nm means it can loosen a bolt that has been tightened up to 1,600Nm. It's a personal choice, but I opted for the 1002 with the 1/2" sq drive, as I'd need the adapter for the 1001 with 3/4" drive, and I don't have any 3/4 drive sockets anyway.
