About this deal

I would like to have got down into the bottom assembly and taken it all apart but I couldn't work out how to do it but that would be a plan B for anyone who still can't get the thing to work with WD40. For those who are wondering if this will replace the now out of production AFV40100 or AFV40200, the answer is YES it will! Lead times are shown on the product and trolley pages and are always advertised in working days (Monday to Friday). The Kayla cable operated dual flush valve from Derwent Macdee is one of the number one sellers in the replacement market.

Being a busy sort of chap I resolved to 'look at it later' as it wasn't a source of major inconvenience. I might dissassemble my old one to see why it was jamming because outwardly I can't see a problem, but the problem has gone away with a new one. PLEASE NOTE CERTAIN PARTS OF SCOTLAND, IRELAND and the ISLE of MAN will not be next day if chosen and will take an extra day. The chrome fixture needs to be twisted apart and each side sides either side of the lid and is screwed on.I've tried to include as many pictures as possible in the hope all this makes sense and hopefully prevents you from having to pay for a plumber to visit. Unfortunately some moron has completely blocked in the back of the toilet (as it looks good, until something goes wrong. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother about it as it's not doing any harm (leaking inside or overflowing outside etc) but I wonder how much this constant stream is costing us given that we're on a metered system!

The wife has even hinted that we might partake in some extra curricular activities tonight, thanks to me saving a plumbers bill. I simply unclipped the little plastic box from the underside of the flush button, and squirted a generous glug of WD40 into the box through the hole that the flush plunger pokes into.If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. I have a dual flush button and cable, bottom fill valve in my cistern and it occasionally sticks open allowing the water to continue to drain out the cistern. My unit was difficult to get out of the cistern, but when i gave it a really hard twist ,which was maybe a bit more than a 1/4 turn it popped out easier, its easy peasy to get it back into its cradle that stays in the cistern. I cleaned the guide rails with some tissue and smoothed them down so any limscale residue and gunk was gone. The internal overflow prevents any excess water from spilling over and causing flooding, and it has an adjustable range of 190 mm to 330 mm.

I've had the same problem but I wasn't sure if it was the WD40 or whether the spring in the grey box behind the push button was the culprit. I've enclosed shots of the cistern and the "plunger" part attached to the lid via the blue tube and was wondering if you kind folks wouldn't mind taking a stab at what the problem might be and how to solve it. there are indeed two bolts - but as you'll see on the other photos, there is no access to the other side of them. And when it comes to turning the whole body of the valve, I said anti-clockwise - but looking at your pictures it could be clockwise.our operatives are all experienced within the industry and are more than happy to help with any questions.

I can't imagine the bolt is threaded into the bowl directly though - is there a plastic fitting glued to the base unit perhaps? I give this 3 stars because I bought one in October 2019 (as the one that came installed with our bathroom about 5 years previously had broken - plunger mechanism was jamming so water was continually flushing into the bowl) but it has only lasted until August 2021 - with the same problem.Inside you will see its a very, very basic design with what is effectively a bicycle brake cable from the push button unit, pulling on a little pully device which lifts the plunger at the base. Be sure you note disassembly positions so its easy to get back together, bit of oil (3 in 1 is better than WD in my opinion) down this end of cable.
