About this deal

Designed for the latest generation of NVMe drives, the card features an upgraded power supply that provides up to 14W of power per drive, as well as a large heatsink and active fan to ensure that drives stay cool for optimum performance.

This works, except… Most boards only have a single x16 slot and that is only x16 if the second slot is empty - otherwise it is x8 or even x4, depending on board setups. M.2 replaces the mSATA standard, which uses the PCI Express Mini Card physical card layout and connectors. For Threadripper (64 lane to 128 lane on “Pro”) and EPYC (128 lanes) you have more options since you have up to 128 PCIe lanes - most motherboards have multiple slots which are 16 lane and you could put such a card in any of them. SSDs, please make sure you know the difference between them and whether your system/motherboard support them before pairing these with your SilverStone product.Run virtual network functions, freely configure software-defined networks, and enjoy benefits such as lowered costs and reduced management efforts. Unused CPU PCle® lanes can be assigned to storage, allowing you to create a bootable RAID array with multiple M. With FreeBSD and ZFS, QES is flash-optimized, capable of driving outstanding performance for all-flash storage arrays. There’s also another type of card with a PCIe NVMe RAID controller which will work on any platform with any number of PCIe lanes, which you need special OS drivers for, and to configure the SSDs as either JBOD or a RAID array. The first is fairly obvious---your computer needs to have enough physical space to support the length of the card you want to use.

It does this by dropping the first CPU-attached expansion slot down to x8 and the second CPU-attached expansion slot down to x4 when the second CPU-attached M. Module keying is specified by the "K-K" part, in an encoded form using the key IDs from the left table above; it can also be specified as "K" only, if a module has only one keying notch. sockets keyed for SATA or two PCI Express lanes (PCIe ×2) are referred to as "socket 2 configuration" or "socket 2", while the sockets keyed for four PCI Express lanes (PCIe ×4) are referred to as "socket 3 configuration" or "socket 3". SSDs, the ECM22 has large, exposed gold inlays to help transfer heat from SSD to its relatively large surface of gold-rich PCB.Ok so if I use this card expansion in a 16x slot, and the card is 4x speed, what speed does 4x reach?
