I liked the educational aspect of it, whereby he can play games and learn at the same time and this is exactly what he does.

This was my daughters main present and although she got plenty of other gifts she won't play with any of them but her leappad 2 and I have had t limit her play on it because given the chance and when she isn't at school she will easily be on it all day long as she loves it that much.

So I gave it four star for the difficulty to downlaod games if you are outside US/UK, otherwise I will give it 5 Star hands down. The next thirty minutes of my life is a complete blank, as I rushed to find rechargeable batteries to fill both devices AND get them configured. Last year we contemplated the purchase of adult tablet or a children’s version tablet/system for Christmas. There is a small home button at the bottom right of the screen, which gets you back to the main menu, and volume controls located to the right of the screen.

I'm not sure if it is a common fault but one of the two devices stopped working after about 8 months.

I handed the box to my 2 year old – I thought he was going to gnaw through the box once he realized what was inside – and my 5 year old began to fuss. Each child using the device has their own profile, and once you select that profile you’re presented with several pages of apps, all represented by a chunky icon. LeapPad 2 is easy to adapt for a wide age range because of the growing collection of game and extension options.
