About this deal

In looking through, I passed a recipe for jam-filled muffins and I decided to make my Poor Man’s Teacakes a little richer by sticking mixed berry jam in the middle. Hello, I’m not sure where you are residing now but you mentioned missing Lurpak butter which you purchased in the UK. It’s the same recipe that I use for my Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies, Ginger Shortbread and Valentine’s Heart Cookies. These chocolate delights are filled with creamy mallow with an indulgent jam centre that is sure to excite your taste buds.

I know chilling in the fridge is such a pain but for these teacakes it’s so important that they keep their shape. You can use any type of jam you like, it doesn’t have to be strawberry jam, you can also use raspberry or orange jam too. You need to whisk the ingredients for 6-8 minutes using an electric whisk, so this will be a lot longer if you’re doing it by hand! Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, to allow the butter to harden up.

You can make it from fresh jam (pick your own flavour), add sultanas, nuts or frozen or fresh berries, or just leave it plain. Bake for 10 minutes; while the cakes are baking, mix the cinnamon with the last tablespoon of sugar. You’ll need to add all the ingredients to a heatproof bowl and place over a pan with simmering water and whisk.

You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included.

Marmalade I use for a zingy citrusy homemade yogurt, to make a glaze/sauce for chicken or duck and to add to cakes like marmalade teacake. The first thing you’ll need to do is melt half of the chocolate and line the moulds with the chocolate. It was always baked in a bundt cake pan, and it was always dusted with icing sugar whizzed in a coffee grinder. There are 6 Giant Chocolate Teacake flavours to choose from with seasonal products available such as our Christmas Pudding Chocolate Teacake and Pistachio Cherry heart-shaped Chocolate Teacake.

Remove the teacakes from the mould carefully, you don’t want any finger prints on your chocolate dome! Had I have been paying better attention I would have added it with the wet ingredients but didn’t realize it until after the fact that I had missed it all together. When the meringue is thick, remove the bowl from the heat and continue whisking while you add the gelatine leaves, one at a time. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Ocado Limited's prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. To be fair, in the modern world where many do not make their own jams and preserved anymore, this question becomes almost obsolete. We recommend that you always check the packaging for allergen advice and talk to your doctor if you need any further food allergy advice. Jellies can be used to make a glaze for meats or sweet and sour sauce or to add a bit of sweetness to an acidic sauce like tomato based ones or to add to barbecue sauce. This is an encouraging community that offers comprehensive recipes, simple preserving tutorials, and honest tips for cooking with kids.
