The mobile dust container has a capacity of 460 ml and quickly fills up (depending on the degree of soiling in your flat). After that, you can schedule the Roomba® i7+ Braava jet® m6 and to clean certain rooms at certain times, or have the robots clean an entire level of your home.

Once a clean is over, you get a map sent to your phone of where the i7 has been, and where was particularly dirty. Before getting into that, one thing about the vacuum’s shell that’s markedly different here is that the LED now blinks and shines different colors depending on its current state. Instead, the i7 uses touch to detect when it’s bumped into something – and if that’s a pet something, by that point it’s too late.

As you can see from the pictures below, the robot cleared the top-level dirt, but couldn’t pull out the final traces of flour that were deeper in the carpet pile. But if it does get into trouble while running, it alerts you on the app and tells you what’s wrong so you can fix it quickly and easily. Send the robot vacuum cleaner on its first cleaning job at the touch of a button in the app - it’ll do the rest.

After cleaning the same space a few times, Roomba® i7 will produce a Smart Map that is pre-segmented into different spaces or rooms. Vacuum robots and conventional vacuums / cordless vacuums quickly reach their limits here and don’t score much better. There’s very little practical difference between the two models, but we think that if you have pets at home then the J7’s front-facing camera is worth having: it’s better to prevent unfortunate accidents than to deal with their aftermath. The Roomba i7+ robot vacuum learns from your cleaning habits to offer up customized schedules, while Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility allow you to start cleaning with just the sound of your voice. When Roomba i7+ has a low battery, the robot will intelligently recharge for the amount of time needed to continue cleaning and get the job done.Plus, you can tell your robot to stay away from certain areas or objects with customizable Keep Out Zones. This test requires the iRobot Roomba i7+ to move along the plinth in the correct direction so that its side brush could push the dirt into the main suction path.

Impressively, the i7+ was able to correctly identify each room in my apartment based on where the walls and doors are.
