They include, Bonnie Prince Charlie and the famous illustrator Eleanor Vere Boyle, renowned for illustrating stories for Hans Christian Andersen and Alfred Lord Tennyson, as well as writing poetry about Elrick. Often the gin will be infused with a flavour post-distillation through maceration or even the addition and blending of individual distillates or essences. Eventually the estate will house a new cafe and bar along with a second distillery that will sit within the newly landscaped walled garden. Surrounded by woodland, gardens, and even an award winning gin distillery in the grounds, where you can really drink in the essence of this magical place! Built at the height of the Scottish Enlightenment period in 1720, at the House of Elrick they celebrate the minds of the enlightened. The flavours can vary greatly and some gins can often cross over to other gin styles, for example where sugars have been added to created an Old Tom style gin or maceration with fruit to create a Flavoured Gin. House of Elrick founder, Stuart Ingram purchased the 300-year-old B-listed home in 2014 with the intention of transforming it into a gin distillery and visitor centre, helping promote tourism in this beautiful area of Scotland.The purpose built distillery sits nestled on the House of Elrick Estate next to the listed walled garden. Kitchen: With breakfast area, electric oven, electric hob, microwave, American style fridge freezer and dishwasher. The estate has been extensively renovated to provide a wonderful exclusive environment for that special occasion or get together.
