Jean-Michel Basquiat's art was inspired by the book's illustrations since it was read by him many times when he was a child, especially when recovering from an accident he suffered. There is also an edition dated 1896 which does still reference the English edition stating it is "A New Edition, Thoroughly Revised by American Authorities, from the thirteenth English Edition" and edited by T. used copy, consider that the new book version comes with the online access code that lets you download this very big and heavy book. obviously not in the way you can't put gripping fiction down, but in the sense that the drawings absolutely mesmerized me. Uses more than 1,000 innovative original illustrations— by renowned illustrators Richard Tibbitts and Paul Richardson—to capture anatomical features with unrivalled clarity, and makes body structures easy to locate and remember from one illustration to another through consistent use of color.

This investigative paradigm as resulted in over 1,600 peer reviewed publications in the anatomical sciences. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends.

In the 1998 Star Trek: Voyager episode " Message in a Bottle", the new Emergency Medical Hologram designed by Ensign Kim begins reciting the contents of Gray's Anatomy when activated, beginning with a description of the cell. Unfortunately, Gray still emerges as a mostly enigmatic person whose life we know about only through the scant writings of those who knew him, none of whom ever wrote a contemporary biography or personal memoir.

The book provided medical students with an affordable, richly illustrated, and easily navigable textbook of anatomy that was the perfect companion for laboratory dissection and classroom study. Three years later, Gray died from smallpox, but his legacy was ensured, and his great book has never been out of print since. Tubbs has authored and edited over 40 books and is the editor-in-chief of the journal Clinical Anatomy.

Okay, so I may not have read it from cover to cover in a single continuous attempt but I am certain that I have at one time or another, perused each and every page. The book is still published under the title Gray's Anatomy and is widely appreciated as an extraordinary and authoritative textbook for medical students. While Gray\'s Anatomy may no longer be a suitable study guide for modern physicians, it is considered a classic work on the subject and is a great reference for those interested in the origins of the study of human anatomy. This is a digitally reproduced facsimile of thi fmous medical refeence book, The illustrations are very clear bith becasue of the digital reproduction and also the large size of the images.

Like Albert's "Molecular Biology of the Cell", it's a superlative textbook that every home should have at least one copy of. After more than 150 years of continuous publication, Gray's Anatomy remains the definitive, comprehensive reference on the subject, offering ready access to the information you need to ensure safe, effective practice. Successive British editions of Gray's Anatomy continued to be published under the Longman, and more recently Churchill Livingstone/ Elsevier imprints, reflecting further changes in ownership of the publishing companies over the years.
