About this deal

If you go for a pre-built GMMK, it comes with Gateron Brown switches by default and standard black (or white, if you can find the White Ice colorway) backlit keycaps. There is also no GMMK software for macOS, unfortunately, and there are no wireless capabilities here. While I've reviewed several Keychron mechanical keyboards here already (the K2V2, K1V4, K4V2, and K3), I think it's time to venture out to some other mechanical keyboard brands out there. I managed to get my hands on PBT Islander from TKC when they had extras available, and I put them on the GMMK TKL that I put together.

It also has higher quality doubleshot PBT keycaps, while the GLORIOUS keyboard has cheaper ABS keycaps. We reviewed the full-size model, but expect most of the review to be valid for all variants, other than dimensions. Unfortunately, if you need a wrist rest, there isn't one included in the box, although GLORIOUS does sell some. Although we tested a variant of the Ducky that doesn't have backlighting, you can get one that does. It has a fairly low profile, and the front edge is very thin, so some people might not need a wrist rest.

Glorious brings with the GMMK TKL a modular mechanical keyboard on which switches and of course Keycaps can be exchanged at will.

Enclosed are both a Keycap and a Switch-Puller with which all 88 buttons of the GMMK Full Size can be completely replaced in less than 20 minutes.Whether you are a full on effects person or just a mono-colour person, there a setting and colour that will appeal to you. My biggest issue with the GMMK, which also applies to many other larger computer peripheral companies, is that the software is proprietary and not available on macOS. SMD LED Compatible Switches - This is optional if you want to have the backlight function as a non LED switch would block the light. A kb detecting software would be nice still because the instruction was unclear and we was a bit stuck. This full-size keyboard comes with a variety of different switches so you can select the ones that better suit your needs.

The software for the GMMK is only available for Windows, so if you want to reprogram any keys on the GMMK, make sure to have a PC around. We opted to go for a bit of different path and chose to go with Glorious’ recently released Panda switches, their take on the notorious Holy Panda switches of the keyboard community.

Of course, the Glorious PC Gaming Race brings GMMK TKL all the comfort of a professional keyboard, such as full anti-ghosting with N-key rollover via USB , in which no key entries are lost, no matter how many are pressed simultaneously. Note that since the GLORIOUS GMMK is hot-swappable, your experience will vary depending on which switches you decide to use. The Keychron has better latency, but it doesn't have customization software, which the GLORIOUS has. I've had many keyboards over the years, mostly cheap ones but not all, my previous mechanical was a cheap jobbie at around 40 and it was OK but compared to this it felt really cheap. With the GMMK, you no longer have to purchase an entire new keyboard, or disassemble and solder your switches – you can simply pop out the switch just like a keycap, and mix/match to test out and use any combination of switches you desire.
