About this deal

That said, some say that it's a solid reliable colour film and that it offers great value for money. During the film era it was a fierce competition between Kodak and Fujifilm, but these days the situation is a bit different it seems… Leica M6 | MS-Optics 50mm 1. This film was originally marketed as a budget film but with all colour film it’s become a lot harder to find! They also mean C200 is ideal for point ‘n’ shoot cameras that might not meter the light so well or be more restricted with their shutter speed.

But I used the same lens on both cameras for the medium and telephoto focal lengths: a Nikkor 50mm f/1. A few of the more boutique films I’ve reviewed on here are synonymous with specific types of photography; either by design or by how the herd has taken to shooting them. Overall, I have to say the image quality and qualities were everything I could ask for and more from a budget, general use, average film. Fujifilm 200 is a 200-speed colour film, forgiving with highlights and known for providing reliable results across different lighting situations. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Fuji's Fujicolor 200 Film is designed for its ease of use and flexibilty, Fujifilm 200 works equally well both outdoors in daylight or for indoor photography when using a flash. It didn’t lose detail in the sand or the sky above it and gave plenty of sharpness and contrast to the people in the scenes too. It also means, if you have experience developing other colour negative films, you’ll be able to do this one yourself too. It's relatively forgiving of bad exposure without the need for compensating in the lab, but I would recommend metering this film at EI100 if you want more consistent results. This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result.

Finally, that aforementioned wide exposure latitude is a good safety net should the light really be too bright or dim, and the film has good enough dynamic range to render light and dark areas well in the same shot, as you can see with the fish market and pigs shots below. Fuji are doing splendid work keeping us dedicated film photographers supplied with an excellent colour print film at a reasonable cost.A trip to the gorgeous countryside around Yangshuo in southern China would be a good place to see the C200’s green reproduction too. The fine grain structure and high degree sharpness are well-suited to scanning and enlarging for printing purposes. In that sense it's a Fuji equal of Kodak Gold 200 which is also a film meant for the consumer market with ISO200.
