About this deal

x EVO Mic Preamps, 2 x JFET Instrument Inputs, 2 x Independent Headphone Outputs, 8 x Line Outputs, 2 x Optical Inputs, 2 x Optical Outputs. I’d wait for a fix though , because at the moment it only stays on in usb mode in stand alone it shuts down after an hour or so for power saving. Engineered to simplify your workflow, the EVO Mixer enables you to set up and route your inputs + outputs effortlessly, provide ultra-low latency monitoring, set up dedicated artist headphone mixes and so much more. As shipped, therefore, the EVO 16 comes without rack ears and with a pair of rubber feet that allow it to sit firmly on a desktop without scratching it. There are plenty of meters for seeng what’s going on and a handy function button tht you can choose what it does , I have mine set to mono for test mono compatibility.

With a 32‑sample buffer size, most class‑compliant devices will deliver a round‑trip latency of less than 6ms at 44.The EVO 16 interface also comes complete with a software bundle, providing everything you need to start recording music. Audient started out as manufacturers of large‑ and medium‑format analogue mixing consoles, drawing on the immense experience of designer Dave Dearden. The EVO interface comes complete with a professional software bundle including premium-grade plugins to get you started straight out of the box.

Switch between two sets of speakers using the ALT monitor feature, check your mix in Mono or quickly communicate with your artist using Talkback – all features can be easily activated and customised straight from the hardware F-button.Whether you’re recording vocals for your latest song or podcasting with friends on the go, the EVO is the perfect choice. Other than that it's a great looking and performing interface but the rack ears should have been in the box! The sweet icing on this particular cake is Smartgain, which is a means of effortlessly optimising the gain for all the channels you’re using, in one go. For example even though inputs 1 and 2 can be switch to instrument this actually only works if you are connecting using a 1/4 jack, which OK is the most likely connection but for the other 6 inputs it auto switches between mic and line based on if you are using an XLR connector but XLR can be used for balanced line connections too so this is a bit of an issue when you have an interface permanently wired into a rack. Dedicated backlit buttons for selecting your input, 48v phantom, DI mode and Smartgain are joined by monitor and headphone selectors (1 and 2).

Every adjustment, every detail, and every button press is beautifully displayed in real-time on a 240X240 TFT backlit LCD Screen, letting you navigate hardware features effortlessly, make changes on the fly and take full control of your recording session without ever looking at your computer. The popular format of input 1 and 2 being on the front is used on this interface but I'd prefer all 8 on the back as this is the best solution when cabling into a rack unless you only ever want to use the front inputs for guitar in the control room. Designed to sit on a desktop, those two units can be bus‑powered, and are aimed primarily at podcasters and self‑recording musicians. Strictly speaking, the EVO 16 is part of Audient’s daughter brand EVO by Audient, which focuses on affordable, easy-to-use gear with a straightforward design. As well as during recording, the system is also central to setup, status (such as phantom or mute), and metering.
