About this deal

The joint material is well suited for both new joints and renovation of coatings of natural stone or concrete. If a joint has settled or has developed a crack, remove the joint and refill with Dansand Top Lock ® (remember to mix the contents of the bag first).

I know the best case is to re-lay them all on a better base and/or level the entire drive so its flat but this isn't going to happen anytime soon! With over 15 years of professional experience installing block paved drives, patios and footpaths, you’d better believe that our team has tried their fair share of jointing compounds. Extreme weather conditions can cause white deposits (efflorescence) in the joints and on the edges of the paving stones.

I left it a week and it was still loose sand in the gaps so I decided to do it again only to find still not hardened. But be aware that Dansand Top Lock ® may leave a gray haze on the surface as it contains cement dust and binding agents which will easily settle in the pores in burnt tiles. Some mention that it works perfectly and blocks new weeds to grow out between pavements, while others say that it does not do what it states, is useless, and does not set properly. Use a screwdriver to dig up the filling material – you should be able to observe if the joint filling sand is moist all the way down. Hi what I would suggest to do would be put in kill dried sand so the blocks are secure for moving and then apply a liquid resin coating so it’s like a film on top of the block to stop the growth of weeds coming back through and algae and grime.

All you do is sweep area clean and spray with hose pipe then sweep of any standing water , you can just sweep the compound into the joints . Avant Tecno, a pioneering force in the compact loader industry, recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary in the UK with a spectacular event held at Carrow Road Stadium in Norwich, Norfolk. Hence, a weed seed that finds its way to your joint and tries to set roots here, will dry out after a short time. Weeds rarely grow up against the plinth, since the drier environment close to the house itself gives them poor growth conditions. As an alternative you can scrape out the existing joints with a suitable tool and refill the joints with Dansand Top Lock ®. Dansand® joint filler is not a weed-killer; it creates a poor growth environment for weeds so that seeds cannot set root. This means that the plaster may absorb salts from the filling sand, leading to efflorescence which cannot be washed off. Our dark granite stone dust is a strong choice for both wide and narrow joints between concrete tiles and natural paving stones. I always do this now as a matter of course, it stops the salts coming out and frost damage etc, etc.

Once the paving is swept clean of all residual Dansand Top Lock®, use your garden hose with the nozzle set to mist. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Dansand Top Lock® consists of oven-dried silica sand with a tiny amount of cement dust and a natural binding agent.Scientific studies have shown this ready to use blend of kiln-dried sand along with special minerals keep weeds at bay due to its naturally high levels of pH. I finished off my paving will the old cheap sand, loads of weeds in the two weeks after the Dansand, six weeks after the cheap sand, no weeds!
