But as the sparks between them start to ignite, will both players realise they care more about their relationship than making the roster? After reading this book, I still don’t understand training camps, nationals, training and… stuff, though I feel like I should have picked something up while reading this. I know people generally dislike miscommunication as a way to create conflict but I think Wilsner is doing something a little more interesting and complicated here.

I did like this book, especially that it has a lot of intimacy scenes, but for me it was definitely lacking emotion. Phoebe is the newbie on the national team and a professional team and has idolized (and had a crush on) Grace for years. Mistakes Were Made felt like the polar opposite - the story starts with a recently divorced woman having a one night stand with what is later revealed to be her daughter’s college roommate.
