Cascamite One Shot Powdered Resin Wood Glue, only requires mixing with water to make it ready for use. These adhesives are commonly used in wood working application for veneering, laminating and joint bonding. And if you use a D3 or D4 graded version which relates to the water resistance, they give a water resistance which is at least equal, and more often better, than One Shot. It is especially suitable for joinery, cabinetwork and assembly gluing, particularly when small amounts of glue mix are needed, or when demand is such that the use of a liquid adhesive is uneconomic.

To ensure that a consistent glue mix with the correct properties is obtained, mixing by weight is strongly recommended. The setting time is fast, but will allow adequate working life for most envisaged applications using hot and cold pressing techniques. There are a number of differences between the two types of adhesive, even though they are both desigined for bonding wood and timber. Please note: this is the brand new Ureka Cascamite formula, tried and tested, we can confirm that this version has been vastly improved and is as good as, if not better, than the original formula which was loved by many. PVA adhesives, such as Woodstikk® D3 PVA, are water based adhesives based on Poly Vinyl Acetate (PVA).Ensure the wood substrate is sound, smooth, level, clean, dry and free of any dust, dirt, wax, loose paint, incompatible curing compounds or fire retardant chemicals, fungicides, release agents, sealers, or any other foreign substances that might interfere with a good bond. As a precaution, any glue spilt on the hands should be removed immediately with soap and water before it sets. Cascamite – The original powdered resin wood glue with gap filling properties which ensures weather and water resistant joints every time. As they are one component, meaning no mixing required, and water based, so relatively safe to use, PVA wood adhesives.

Mixing - Use a dry, preferably non-metallic container, and add water to the powder gradually, stirring to ensure the powder is evenly mixed. Protect and preserve interior and exterior wood against rot, mould, algae, fungal growth, insect attack and more with these treatments and woodworm killers.One Shot adhesives are ideal for the smaller user as if they are kept dry and in a cool environment, the shelf life is excellent. Addition of too much water will seriously reduce the rate of setting and the gluing properties, particularly at low temperatures. Ureka’s PVA’s include Woodstikk D3 PVA Wood Glue (a D3 grade woodworking adhesive) and Woodstikk D4 PVA Wood Adhesive (a higher water resistant D4 grade woodworking adhesive). Whether to use Cascamite or PVA is a common dilemma amongst trades who are creating products with wood.
