The result is NOT pro but the wall works and I learned a ton - including how to lay a bed of mortar by hand because there are many places a Bricky tool just can't go. The Bricky Pro kit includes links to the Bricky Pro Youtube channel for further tutorials and comes with a useful trowel, Mason's Mate line guide, a Pro pointer and Bricky templates. One professional remarked that he didn't feel the bed would adhere well to the brick as there was no initial "furrowing" in the bed. Thirdly, I always thought that it was desirable to lay a 'fluffy' bed of mortar for each brick, so that you have full adhesion and a little 'squeezeout' on each side .Anybody can build walls just like a professional when they opt for this Bricky Pro professional wall building mortar application tool kit. I am an amateur bricky and have built plenty without the bricky tool but this just makes life so much easier with exactly the right amount of mortar on the bed every time . Do not redistribute any products before they have arrived with you as inventory may vary and/or items might need repairs. Coupla' things confuse me about the Bricky: it assumes that your joints will be consistently 10mm - the job I am about to undertake is an old house with some variation, which of course Bricky can't accommodate - unless I nail a bit of ply to the underside!

Noel believes due to the permanency of walls, their construction should be to an exact standard in line with building regulations and display the aesthetic beauty for which they’re intended.I found the end mortar guides a bit useless, tricky to clip onto the end if the brick, even trickier ti keep it in place, a pro retired brick layer neighbour showed me how to place end mortar on bricks, much easier with less mortar used. The head hights for all window and doors work to this gauge, so the brickies mate give a perfect 10mm bed, so usuing a brick that is 63mm deep with a 10mm bed you would be out of gauge by 2mm per brick.

It won't be of much use for regrade or reclaimed bricks that can vary in size or even (as in the case of some I had delivered recently) be bowed. Also, let's not forget that while the Bricky can only handle recessed joints, it also helps hugely in preventing snots in cavity wall construction. The Bricky Pro is for DIY builders who want to build walls with neat, uniform, clean joints with no waste or mess. Also, if it would have taken him the same amount of time it took you to do it no doubt you would have taken issue with him. Thankfully, all of the bricks/blocks that I will be using this time are all new and are metric in size.

If bricks are laid frog down, the weight of the wall is taken only on a small area and the brick may fail. B rick have been around for thousands of years , it’s one of the only truly tried and tested materials known to man.It wiukd get 5 stars but i found the adjustable frame very hard to get apart, without risk of severe injury, so wear some rubber gardening type gloves to reduce abrasions to your hands, i had to pry my frame apart using levers while releasing the catches that keep it together, really due poor finishing of what is otherwise a well made useful tool.
