About this deal

Since the KORG microKEY is USB bus-powered, you only need a single USB cable to connect it to Mac or Windows. Add an Apple Lightning - USB camera adaptor and one USB cable and your setup is complete, allowing you to access apps such as Korg Gadget, Korg Module, and GarageBand. Agreed that key action isn't the greatest, but after a while I've gotten pretty used to it and have used it in multiple recordings/productions over the past few years. I am simply providing this information for your reference so you can make an informed decision whether to try one of these adapters for yourself.

Now that we support this directly, you won't be able to use a connection through another app in Simply Piano. This keyboard is full of many surprises……not a lot of users of them, but the people who do like them seem to really like them a lot. Lightweight and perfect for the laptop musician on the go, LPK25 Wireless is full of expressive sound. I enjoy blogging a LOT so if you’ve got any tips to making these blogs better……PLEASE send those tips.so i’m not gonna talk a ton about it……like everything else here I’ll leave a YouTube video link of a pretty solid review I found. It was a bit more expensive then I thought but I guess, getting rid of a lot of cabling issues (I use both iOS and MacOS, shifting) and freeing up a port when using the computer, will make it worth that.

So, of the two adapters, I suggest the UD-BT01 because the beauty of the UD-BT01 (compared to the MD-BT01) is that it will work with both USB-to-Host and MIDI In/Out connections. To date, the standard way to connect a MIDI keyboard to an iPad has been to create a wired connection between the two. I do use an adapter for the cable from UHost to Keyboard/s as I don't have the proper ones for direct connection but I haven't had problem with that earlier when I used it (USB-A Double Female). The microKEY comes with a serious collection of powerful music software titles including popular special editions of KORG Gadget and KORG Module plus the KORG Legacy Collection offering five classic KORG instruments as plug-ins. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Alongside Wireless Bluetooth control the Air also has a USB connection that lets you use it in a more traditional computer based setup and there's plugins from AAS and Korg to play with in your DAW of choice. There is a sustain button that works to give you the full damper function while the octave buttons and key transpose function allow you to access the full range of keyboard notes. If you’re interested in these, the guy I just shared (John Mike) does a GREAT review of a bunch of different midi devices here.

To help you remember which is which, the “M” in MD-BT01 stands for MIDI (as in keyboards that have MIDI In / MIDI Out ports). You've probably read the USB Tekspek, and perhaps your intrigue, or product interest, has lead you to look up Firewire as well.

Because of this and my own experience (which was very good but not perfect), I cannot recommend these Yamaha Bluetooth adapters.
