I absolutely LOVE the pair I made myself (i stuck with the white flip flop and used, pearls, turquoise beads, silver roses, and copper sea pearls). Not concerning yourself with the front side or back side of the ribbon showing, wrap the ribbon so that it alternates from one side of the strap and up and over the other side.

If you don't get a kit with it in already, you will also need a small heart pegboard and some thin 1-2mm twine or hemp. A girl can simply never have too many shoes, especially in the summer when you get to show your painted toenails off with sandals and open-toe footwear. I like to use a wide variety of different colors and styles of these beads from plain colors, Perler glitter beads, metallic, glow in the dark, pearls and more.

I re-strung the needle at least three times per flip flop, each time hiding the knot into the layers of ribbon so it would not show.

Each bead has to be sewn on separately, not strung together first and then sewn on (unless you are going for that strung-together look.

Thread another 5 pearls onto the cotton, and pass back through the silver bead to make another loop. Let’s just say that I figured out that Instructables needed an ‘Embellish your own Flip Flops’ set of instructions, and I just so happened to be making a pair of embellished flip flops!

Planning on tossing the rubber soles, I didn’t take much care with them, but I’d strongly suggest you remove your straps much more gently. But I used cheap flip flops from Michael’s and during the day the rubber started to compress and they got to be just fine within a few hours of wear (and I mostly sit around, really).
