About this deal

Social stories present information in a literal, 'concrete' way, which may improve a person's understanding of a previously difficult or ambiguous situation or activity. The stories could really use title cards to help distinguish them as they can sort of run together with their variant lengths and sometimes similar art styles.

Like the heroes which they so often encompass, I have found that comics do this incredible work with little to no recognition. I think reading comics can be really helpful and enjoyable for individuals with autism and I just wanted to speak to anyone who has an opinion on the subject. If a spectrum is too wide (that embrace all people), it loses its boundaries; it is not a spectrum at all. McNicoll has written several books featuring neurodivergent characters and those who perceive the world in unique ways. This is proven in the incredible work of autism ambassador Alis Rowe (who if you haven’t checked out yet, you definitely should). Comic strip conversations, created by Carol Gray, are simple visual representations of conversation.

I am not sure there is always a clear line as we are talking about how the brain neuro-connectors work. I was asking for positive comments from individuals who enjoy reading comics, if that does not include you then why did you respond? During our conversation she looked at me and wondered if I had a lot of air signs in my star chart or if I was perhaps on the autism spectrum.Though for some, it can be difficult to be inspired by a character whose official diagnosis appears to be hidden by a creator, it’s important to state that this is definitely not the case with all publishers: with the shining example of this, being the American publisher Face Value Comics. I really appreciated all the different art styles and getting a peek into what being autistic is like. Sensory: Life on the Spectrum contains illustrated explorations of everything from life pre-diagnosis to tips on how to explain autism to someone who doesn't have it, to suggestions for how to soothe yourself when you're feeling overstimulated. different autistc artist made an anthology about having autism and living with ASD and it's such a good and informative read.
