About this deal

I think there is a sexy, non conformist element to it, and that it would probably smell interesting and expensive on a man as well. People talk about reformulation panic as if it's an imagined problem, but my new batch bottle definitely does NOT live up to the beast mode reputation. At a time when manufacturers are quietening down their scents, they've just gone "screw that, let's keep this LOUD. It is bold and opaque - a little goes a long way - and it is reminiscent of many beautiful chypres, both modern and vintage. My sample is clearly a reformulation as it is not as long-lasting nor as loud as reviews would suggest.

Because the incense and oakmoss notes are not too heavy on my skin (compared to application on fabrics), I think I might be able to pull Aromatics Elixir off in warmer weathers because I like wearing herbal scents that are light and bitter in the summer. I recently bought a travel size and when I uncapped it and took a sniff at home it didn't smell anything like I remembered. Trying to remember why I dislike it so much but also kind of want to try it again there’s something about it I want to make, but it’s just too strong and it almost kind of reminds me of a strong cat spray ( and y’all know about cats know what I mean ! It’s definitely a perfume that needs to mix with your skin oil to really develop into what it’s supposed to be.it lasts ages, and like I mentioned, it's strong, so use a light hand if you don't want your perfume to enter the room before you do. Friends who travel to India and Morocco often have complimented me several times on it, asking if I'm wearing Chanel Nº5. Its a grey morning in Australia; soft spring in muted blanket of mizzle and when I spritzed this scent onto my forearm I was inundated with chamomile and aldeydes, as well as something sharp like clary sage or lemon verbena. It's been replaced with about six discernible notes, it's light enough to spray 3 or more times onto the hair, body or clothing, and it's a ghost of it's former self.

It’s not as good as Magie Noire in terms of hippies 70s scents, so I’ll just stick with Magie Noire. words fail me as despite all the previous complaints on this review site, the fragrance is still like a cheap imposter! At first spray, you get that blast of aldehydes - it honestly reminded me of the aldehydes in Blue Grass. This perfume instantly brought memories of the nouveau riche ladies of the 90s going to church in my extra religious country.

i think i used to smell this on my grandma, but she’s no longer with us, so unfortunately i can’t confirm, but i’ll ask my mom if she remembers.Aromatics is a fragrance that has always dried down very differently when sprayed on clothing versus on skin. I actually think that grandmas smell very soft-light floral and powdery not earthy, woody, spicy and powerful. This is how I perceive Aromatics Elixir, just a complete reverie for mother nature in a distinctly 1970s way.
