Now Music is proud to present the next instalment in the ongoing ‘Yearbook’ series – and the first to celebrate the ‘90s, Now – Yearbook 1992; 79 tracks from a brilliant year in Pop! But the final track on this ‘Yearbook’ is 1992’s biggest seller in both the UK and the US: ‘I Will Always Love You’ from Whitney Houston.

Now’s first yearbook venture into the 1990’s and it’s an interesting if not the most exciting year to launch with. opens Side Two, which includes The Cure's 'Friday I'm In Love', Electronic's 'Disappointed', Marc Almond, Boy George - and the beautiful and sophisticated ballad 'The One', from Elton John. Classic late ‘70s songs ‘Baker Street’ and ‘Please Don’t Go’ were re-made as huge Dance hits – and floor-fillers from CeCe Peniston, Kym Sims, Dina Carroll and Paula Abdul are all featured. Unfortunately my copy arrived with the plastic seal ripped and the corners of the cardboard CD case scuffed and crushed.Pretty decent overview but wondering why they used the Perfecto Mix of Even Better Than The Real Thing. The same disc includes Mr Big’s international hit ‘To Be With You’, Richard Marx’s ‘Hazard’ and Sophie B Hawkins’ exclamatory ‘Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover’. The first disc opens with giants of their genres - Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé and their incredible collaboration ‘Barcelona’ - which reached its peak No. two from Take That (‘A Million Love Songs’, ‘I Found Heaven’) and the same from Simply Red (‘Your Mirror, Thrill Me).

saw Bruce Springsteen release two new albums, 'Human Touch' and 'Lucky Town' on the same day, and the title track from the former kicks off LP2 - followed by playlist classics from Sophie B. This edition does not fail to satisfy with it's track listing, some memorable tracks from the early 90's. s ‘Rhythm Is A Dancer’, Utah Saint’s Kate Bush-aided ‘Something Good’, CeCe Peniston’s ‘Finally’, and “Dr” Alban’s ‘It’s My Life’. Brian May’s ‘Too Much Love Will Kill You’ begins disc 2, followed by Mike Oldfield’s ‘Sentinel’, plus fantastic covers from Cher (‘Could've Been You’), KISS (‘God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II’), and Manic Street Preachers (‘Theme From M*A*S*H (Suicide Is Painless)’).The usual formats apply: 4CD deluxe version in hardcover book with track annotations and quiz, 3LP coloured (green) vinyl and the cheaper 4CD in card sleeve. That was one of only 13 chart-toppers in Britain in 1992 and a creditable nine are included in Yearbook ’92.
