About this deal

Keeping all this in mind, we went out and bought Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock (SPF 50+). I have some natural color, but it’s mainly reddish undertones because my blood shows through my near-translucent skin. Inactive ingredients Water, styrene/acrylates copolymer, silica, dimethicone, potassium cetyl phosphate, benzyl alcohol, beeswax, caprylyl methicone, glyceryl stearate, peg-100 stearate, cetyl dimethicone, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, behenyl alcohol, acrylates/dimethicone copolymer, xanthan gum, sodium polyacrylate, chlorphenesins, dimethicone/peg-10/15 crosspolymer, hydrolyzed jojoba esters, fragrance, disodium edta, ethylhexyl stearate, tocopheryl acetate, bht, trideceth-6, jojoba esters.

It has almost everything I look for in a sunscreen - easy to apply, easy to mattify, smells great - it’s just very shiny.

It’s never fully absorbed into the skin, it just sits there and reminds you of all of your failures, all of your mistakes…how rude.

On paper it has all the right things going for it: not shiny, not heavy, dries down fast, yadda yadda. But recently I have upgraded by skin care to incorporate anti ageing products and was trying to protect myself from UV. After about a week of using this product, I realized that it was THIS Neutrogena sunscreen product that was burning my skin, NOT the sun.

If you've ever used a skincare, makeup or beauty product that's made your skin look and feel smoother tempoarily - it's likely contained Silicone. For Prevention of Sunburn "This sunscreen caused my skin to burn like I had 2nd degree sunburns, it also made my face swell.

The only good thing I can say about this sunscreen is that my makeup didn’t shift, pill, or rub off when I wore makeup over it. My skin is a bit irritated right now so I expect the irritation to stop once my skin is in better shape, but for right now it’s not a particularly enjoyable experience. I don’t think this particular product comes in different formula for different skin types though I could be mistaken.

As a result, those who find them problematic are avoiding them and increasingly, cosmetic companies are avoiding them as well. It is possible for cosmetics to contain one of the suspect ingredients without it appearing on the ingredient list due to it not reaching the concentration threshold to disclose it and cosmetic manufacturers choice to not disclose it.

There is talk about how, past SPF 45, the protection-level number on sunscreen bottles amounts to marketing bullshit (see WebMD ** ***). I am allergic to many sunscreens so finding ones that aren’t super greasy and don’t cause a rash are very hard to find. Since using this sunscreen, my face has gone through a rebellion, breaking out in places I normally never have acne. This dermatologist-tested formula uses Avobenzone to provide advanced protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays, along with Dry-Touch technology for an ultra-light, non-shiny finish.Methylisothiazolinone: is a preservative that can cause allergic reactions and in high doses, can lead to toxicity. I was outdoors for maybe 2 hours in the afternoon each day that I used the sunscreen, but by the third day, the skin on my arms became quite blotchy with large dark red and dark brown patches, each about half an inch or so in diameter. For Prevention of Sunburn "I used Neutrogena sport face SPF 70 on my face 1 day and did not expose myself to more than 1 hour of sun light.
