Tap and die sets are used by engineers, metalworkers, and mechanics to cut internal or external threads, allowing two or more pieces of metal to screw together. Recommended feed rate: General steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. Available in a range of sizes and specifications, the taps are manufactured from High Speed Steel (HSS) and have an oxidised finish. The taps come in a case made of impact-resistant PP (polypropylene), ensuring that the taps stay safe if the case is damaged or dropped. We started exhibiting at model engineering exhibitions in 1994 and realised from the shows that people wanted quite specialised tooling for their machines and also a wide range of tooling which they could adapt to suit their needs.
