This story is a beacon of hope, that yes, there IS a light at the end of a tunnel, they only have to stand up on their own two legs and take a step.Kennedy Ryan you have found a reader for life and I’m so excited to see what the rest of the Hoops Series has to offer!

So, the narration is perfection and made you feel all that she felt and it's totally worth having, but you miss the extra epilogue which is really good and give us more of a closure. Grip series were my first Kennedy Ryan's books which they were spectacular and those books on my Favorites shelf right now and I'm planning to read her other books very soon too but you got the hint right? If I could just watch this one in the eye of her storm, in this crisis of her pleasure, it would be enough.

Check your trigger warnings before reading because there are some heavy topics in this book and not for the light hearted! That doesn’t happen to me very often, but the story was so profound, it took me a while to find my words. But like I said, it truly did get better towards the middle and I really enjoyed how the author incorporated elements of humor, suspense, sports and romance all in one to create this phenomenal piece of writing! I fell in love with Iris “Gumbo”, an ill-fated girl, who tried so hard to believe in her love and family, just for the sake of her daughter.

Instead, I'm going to let Kennedy's beautiful prose and her magnificent characters sell this book for me. Wow, I was blown away with this story, not only does it awaken the awareness of domestic abuse but tells the story of two relationships, one that was destined to heal and one that had the potential to destroy. She wrote about life, pain, love, healing, and discovering yourself when you feel like there's nothing left of you.Their world is even smaller now, but their chance to be together seem to go further and further away. Things are difficult for them and it seems impossible that they will find their way to each other, but it’s meant to be. And despite that, there are still beautiful, scared, and loyal things in this world waiting and giving us hope.
