About this deal

Low Energy Supermarket advises no professional person be booked to conduct work until the goods are in hand and accepts no responsibility if persons are booked and goods are not in hand.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. After an initial coupla bumps in the road i was contacted by dave the company owner who sorted it for me personally. In the past I've purchased loft zone flooring and the metal loft shelf, however for this particular requirement I wanted something more cost effective than the metal shelves as it's overkill for this part of our loft. Pack of loft legs raise loft floor by 175mm on top of ceiling joists, ensuring insulation is not compressed, thereby maintaining U values, to help save energy and money.

Standard – While standard loft boarding is safe enough when done correctly, if someone is recommending it when it squashes your insulation, you might need to consider what else they’re not paying attention to. All straight forward and very easy to get level, although do just check where your cross beams go if you've got them (as they might get in the way). By using a loft leg this will raise the flooring above any insulating materials you have in between the joists, this space is essential to ensuring the insulating properties have room to breathe so they will be working to their best ability. The team stripped the loft in one day, topped up the main area with more insulation and complete the work the following day. I have subsequently discovered on installation, that one of the other items, a ladder, is dented in several places. I am very impressed with how well the LoftZone system has been installed and tailored to fit within my old roof space and around the extremely awkward access. I bought the 6x6 meter kit and added some uni supports so I could put one under every beam just to be sure it’s rigid as possible. As I knew I was going to be in an awkward, hostile attic environment I decided beforehand to make some wooden templates to set the gaps between the "Tri's and Uni's"supports, which I believe hastened the fitting.

The rails and supports are a bit rickety, but once the loft boards are screwed down the whole floor was solid. A year ago we used Loftzone items to board out a raised platform above the insulation in our new-build loft. Other option would be to use 6x2’s or similar to get enough height for the insulation and fix the boards on to that? In the end we opted to go for instaloft given they are quick dispose of the rubbish and have a life time warranty. If you can, we’d also recommend setting up a temporary work platform using a flat piece of board across the ceiling joists. Some manufacturers will offer a direct repair or replacement service (as applicable) which will often resolve your problem more quickly. Be carefully to not damage the edges as this will prevent the boards fitting correctly up to each other.

Loft Legs are screwed directly into the joists or trusses in a grid to raise the boards, the spacing of the Legs should correlate with the joints in the boards. I had made some wood battens the size I needed between the supports which was much easier than trying to measure each one with the existing insulation in the way.We moved into a new build property at the end of May and wanted to board the loft out for some useful storage space. He has sent out the parts that he says actually, i didnt need after their product revisions after testing etc but, he's sendin em anyway just to set me mind at ease.
