About this deal

I have a leapPad academy and my son's father naught it for him for Christmas and set it up before he gave it to him. However, there’s no chance to get online for a quick Google browse yourself, even in parent safe mode. It lasted well and we only needed to charge it once during a long weekend in Madrid, despite my son using it for the airport, the flight and during the break. Access the most engaging learning library for kids with 700+ educator designed games, apps, eBooks, videos, music and more. You’re asked to enter your wifi details and there was a few minutes’ wait while the tablet connected to the internet.

It is wi-fi enabled (parent controlled by a password) and has 100% kid-safe internet which only gives access to Leapfrog’s pre-approved age-appropriate content such as video, stories, games etc… so no need to worry about what the kids might accidently stumble across using the internet. However if you don’t want your child to have access to the internet on the tablet, you can switch off access in the parental controls section of the LeapPad. So I was really pleased that the snow coincided with us being sent a LeapFrog LeapPad3 to try out, as well as a Dora the Explorer Dora’s Worldwide Rescue adventure game.My son, who is three, absolutely loves it, but his cousin – who has just turned seven and had an older model LeapPad a few years ago – has all but grown out of using it. There is also a home button on the front of the tablet which means your child can get back to the home page at any time. Another WiFi feature is Pet Chat – This allows LeapPad3 users to send messages to each other (like texting) via wifi.

Holly also likes to play with her sister and most enjoys the Petathlon games app which accompanies the Leappand activity watch that they both use; it is a great way to bring the two Leapfrog toys together. Overall, despite the fact that this says it is for up to age 9 this is not great for older children. With the peer-to-peer feature your child can play games or ‘chat’ with another child who has a wifi-supported LeapPad device but they must be in the same room.On the Manage Content screen, expand the "Installed" menu, scroll down and locate some of the larger sized apps (App size is displayed beneath the app name). Education is very important and LeapFrog’s LeapPad 3 is a great tool to help entertain and educate young children.
