I`ve totally fallen for this frag, didn`t really love it first off as I was a diehard fan of the original La Nuit EDT but now that just seems too sweet and cloying so it`s on the bench and EDP is at the wheel. I imagined what this would smell like before I ever smelt it, and when I finally got my hands on it, it did not disappoint. I said ok, I'm a smoker and not a teenager, so I found younger female colleagues who don't smoke and ask 'how does it smell'. Dominique Ropion is a very talented perfumer but I get the feeling that every time a big hitter comes on the selves what has preceded is a conversation of the sort “throw a few pleasant aromachemicals, make it a tad sweet, polish the angles to the point of dullness and let’s throw it in the market to see what happens”. It’s weird because it is kind of warm but I would describe it as radiant- it really blossoms with the bergamot in dry down (the bergamot almost comes through a bit cinnamon apple-y) and it’s smells like a very nice candle or hand soap- seems like it should be versatile enough, not too bright or sharp for the winter but not too cloying for the summer.This impacts the ability of the fragrance to last and around eighty percent of the oils in an EDT fragrance will evaporate within three hours of application. I've kept a bottle in my collection continuously for at least 8 years, my wife would always wanna do things to me whenever I wear it, lol. I blind bought a 60 ml bottle of this gorgeous fragrance and don’t regret it one bit as opposed to the previous comment. I've bought bottles of this magical juice throughout the years and I've noticed every time the scent becomes weaker and weaker. There are several youtube videos comparing the smell and longevity of LNDL over the course of a decade and the videos all found that they farther back the bottle was made, the darker and stronger it was and the longer it lasted.If only the longevity didn't suck it would be 11/10, but in all seriousness this is a quality masterpeice that has backbone and any women in close proximity will love it. I enjoy it, it lies on the intersection between universally liked and unique enough to be interesting. I feel like I have smelled this on 80% of professional in office ladies who want something that doesn’t offend or stand out. I wanted to like this because I love the LNDL line (I have the EDT, Frozen Cologne, Eau Electrique, and Blue Electrique, love them all), but unfortunately on my skin it was TOO STRONG. Both are fantastic if you want a strong, cold-weather fragrance - they just go in different directions.
