About this deal

Perhaps the most unique happens when a T-Rex tears through a subdivision, which emphasizes the disc's delicate special awareness, lack of distortion in quiet moments, and punchiness when needed. Sporting good, reasonably clean transfers, they offer good black levels, detail and colour saturation and whilst not being as sharp as some of today's releases, the video quality is solid and competent.

Now that may seem like a cop-out quoting a previous review, but it's important to note just how good the Japanese DTS soundtrack is, as this is the reference. The consequences of dinosaurs and humans sharing this planet, though, are indeed so great and so complicated that it's fair to say that it wouldn't be a good idea. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The "radar shotgun" scene is another where the DTS soundtrack kicks its counterpart onto the sidelines. There are stages of the visuals leading up to the more visually appealing elements in the cinematography: the opening nighttime scene transferring a dinosaur showcases the disc's contrast capabilities, while the next shot of a jungle excavation site wrangles with tricky tan and terra-cotta hues. I still love this movie all these years later and even though I know what will happen, I become captivated all over again. While it'd be nice to have some of those digital fixes in, I'm much happier having the sky actually look blue!

Note: Our refurbished grades - Pristine, Very Good and Good - are solely based on the cosmetic condition of the phone. There's some numb-skulled decisions being made on the park's grounds, though, which take it down a few notches, and they never really stop staring down the audience throughout. Grant agrees to take the flight; but almost as soon as they are over the island, the Kirbys move the goalposts and attempt a landing.

Also here is a “dinosaur encyclopaedia”, a set of static screens that shows pictorial views of dinosaurs from the different periods of history.Entertainment Magpie Limited t/a Music Magpie is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority FRN 775278. Director Steven Spielberg's Jurassic masterpiece is back in this Collector's Edition containing interviews and special behind-the-scenes footage. Experience one of the biggest films in motion picture history with director Steven Spielberg's ultimate thrill ride, Jurassic Park. With identical bit-rates - both half-rate DTS - I expected the Region 1 DTS edition to sound identical, and before I go any further I should stress that my review copy is apparently the corrected DTS pressing (early versions of this disc had an incorrectly mastered DTS track, but I'm not sure how you can tell what's the corrected one and what isn't). Celebrate one of the biggest movie franchises of all time with the Jurassic Park Trilogy Collection!

Jurassic Park III strips down its intentions to a rescue horror-thriller involving dinosaurs, but its straightforwardness doesn't command the same sort of attention as its bigger-thinking precursors. Another standout moment is the "sick dino", and this is a moment in the film which I'd not previously noticed for its sound. One interesting note, though: the Commentary with the Special Effect Team for Jurassic Park III has been included on the 4k disc and can be played alongside that presentation. There's some distracting wheezy snarls in the kitchen scene that weren't there originally, and which feel like they should be further in the background instead of sounding so close.

While there's nostalgia and precision involved with the original Jurassic Park's sound design, it's hard to argue against this sound treatment being the triumphant beast of the bunch, packing loads of ferocity through the DTS-X object-based audio. I was a Triceratops kid who binged "Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs" until the VHS tape fell apart and endlessly played with Dino-Riders toys. Perhaps it's because I've heard the scene so many times, but what stood out in this treatment is the more careful, attuned escalation of thumps while the T-Rex starts stomping around, possessing tighter and more restrained ripples of bass as it goes further away from the main action. As this scene moves on, we hear the portentous roll of thunder in the background and again, the DTS soundtrack drives this peeling rumble home with more force than its Dolby Digital counterpart: and the atmosphere is all the better for it. I would honestly still recommend the old blu ray to most people though, the lower resolution "noisier" image actually seemed to camouflage some of the CGI seams and the special features are identical to what's included here (and they were all on one disc before).
