In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, this is reissued on limited edition 2LP translucent cobalt vinyl. As much as I liked Gang Starr, I was never quite sure about getting this one due to not being big on jazz music. I am very satisfied and I will suggest to my friends that they purchase from the market place seller.

This album is one of the first albums to combine a live jazz band with hip hop production and rapping. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. The album also features vocal collaborations with Carleen Anderson, N'Dea Davenport (of the Brand New Heavies) Dee C Lee and French rapper MC Solaar.I very nearly opted for the MP3 download only on this and I'm so glad I didn't and instead went for the old fashioned CD. In the liner notes for Jazzamatazz, Guru explained, "jazz's mellow tracks, along with the haerd rap beat, go hand-in-glove with my voice. Live backing is provided by a band that includes Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis, Ronny Jordan, Donald Byrd and Roy Ayers. Featuring Lonnie Liston Smith, Branford Marsalis, Ronny Jordan, Donald Byrd and Roy Ayers and vocalists like Carleen Anderson, N'Dea Davenport and French rapper MC Solaar have cooperated on this classic album.
