About this deal

I enjoy the manhwa and anime, but I don’t see much argument between the pairing like “Why are you doing this? It included this cute box for 7FATES: Chakho, a cute tote, photo cards, a mirror, and a preview to Dark Moon: The Blood Altar and The Star Seekers! I mean the author kinda just glossed over all the answers to questions crucial for understanding the characters' relationship progression in the past and went straight to the mushy and sexy stuff, but damn if the intimate scenes between the leads weren't well-drawn.

Furthermore, on meeting again after 9 years, he doesn't show any gentleness or concern for Myeong, and instead kisses him and takes him to a (hotel? It’s not possible at this stage to judge how effectively the all-important colour will be reproduced in the physical edition but it works extremely well in the digital version. While Hyperventilation is, unfortunately, a one-shot, I promise you, there is material for so much more. And maybe fate is playing tricks on Myeong by bringing Seonho back into his life all these years later. While that makes sense that you'd fall for your hero/saviour, it makes me a little uncomfortable that the 'saviour' doesn't care to actually make this person be accepted by the others and instead just helps him secretly and starts a relationship with him. I’m happy to say that now while I don’t always read manhwas and webtoons, some stories are just too good to pass up and I put aside my dislike of colored pages and get into it.

All that was already enough to make me wary of Seonho, but then the scene where he licks his palm because it has spit from Myeong's coughing is just. The flashback to when Myeong and Seonho were classmates in school is told in light, fresh colours: turquoise, white, sky blue, as though the boys’ memories are suffused with dazzling sunlight. But my problem is that while Seonho doesn't make too much fun of him, he clearly doesn't help him or stop his friends when they make fun of Myeong's condition. However, please forgive delays, as I'm currently on a deathwatch that I don't know how long will last ( fnck cancer, seriously. This is one of those BLs that's well known/ hyped, likely because it was one of the first Korean boy's love comics to be made into an anime. My Coworker read it and said the same thing but a part of me was like “oh maybe I can see something” but nope. It is a lightening read and before you know it, or get any satisfying angst or story progression, it is over. Myeong, a sickly teen with lung issues seemed to be the class outcast, while Seonho was the class president, and clearly popular.

Present day, those feelings have not died down, only this time as adults do they let themselves express those desires. The anime is ofcourse amazing but there is somethings that you don't see in the animation and only can read! The animation did not disappoint and while it is very rated R ( smirk) it manages to capture the story without making it just hentai.
