Fit wise, I find the Trabuco to be superior as more volume is definitely better than the overly snug fit in the Cloud Ultra for trail runs of all distances. If this trail runningshoe is known for something, it is for its great comfort and feel in each step, with which to cover kilometers will not be a problem. The enhanced ventilation of the fabric provides quick drainage when stepping in puddles and streams out on the trail to keep you fast and light and to enhance drying time to avoid uncomfortable damp feet. The fit of the Asics GEL-Trabuco 10 is slightly long, but only a little – I would recommend trying on a half-size smaller than you usually wear if you can, just in case, but probably stick with your usual size if that option isn’t available. The grip was great on an 11-mile trail run over all sorts of terrain, including grass, rocks, road, wooden stiles, stoney tracks and dusty dry-mud fields.

The upper is on the less breathable side as compared to the Trabuco 10 but I found it to be a non-issue even in warmer conditions (up to 75 F / 23 C). The shoes have a waterproof Gore-Tex membrane to keep feet dry in wet conditions, making them suitable for running in all weather conditions.
