About this deal

The author is an absolute genius and has earned himself a place right on my top favourites alongside James Patterson - if you enjoy Pattersons books then this is definitely the way to go.

I’ve not read the first book but kinda wish I had so I could understand the characters and how adversity had affected them. Not so good points: I'm afraid I found that the plot just didn't grip me after the first bout of initial excitement at the beginning.Needless to say, there are lots of red herrings as the story twists and turns its course throughout the book and quite a few times I was caught in the trap of believing that everything had been fully revealed. I was on my toes the entire time, the information is revealed in a smart subtle way which has a lasting effect.

Pamela fin da subito mi ha incuriosita perché era molto ambigua non voleva essere al centro dell’attenzione e nascondeva qualcosa. There were a lot of new characters with big secrets and it was really interesting reading about them all and how all their secrets connected. The town has a plethora of flawed characters, some more likeable than others, some more trustworthy than others.

I liked the slow build up of the plot with a number of strands which are gradually brought together. However felt the author fell into the trap of throwing everything at final few chapters, making what initially had been a good story convoluted and far fetched.

The plot moves along at a swift pace and does require a smidge more concentration than other books in the same genre. Each chapter is told from a different person point of view, but it's not immediately obvious who's point of view you are reading, and I found I didn't know until 3-4 pages into each chapter. Between them, they peel back the layers of the case, uncovering a web of deceit that’s uncomfortably close to home.Although Ben is the main character, we get to learn a lot more about and spend a considerable amount of time with PC Cash. Great character development with an intriguing, intricate plot that is well worth investing in, and a setting that is becoming as much a part of the story as the characters are themselves. I’m sure Eleven Liars can be read without any knowledge of the first book but they’re both great reads so why not treat yourself and start at the very beginning. Short, snappy chapters, a plethora of flawed characters, a cosy village setting and a tightly woven backstory made for a fantastic read.

There were so many parts of this book that had me shocked at the twists but there were other parts where I did guess what had happened. I wish each chapter was clearly labelled as to who the chapter was about and who's viewpoint it was.Robert now lives in Putney and his new hometown served as the inspiration for the fictional town of Haddley in Twelve Secrets. Whether you loved TWELVE SECRETS or whether you're discovering Ben Harper for the first time, ELEVEN LIARS will keep you hooked till the last page. Penso che questo libro sia di passaggio per poi aprire realmente la storia successiva sul coinvolgimento della Freeman sull’aggressione di Mat e avercela tanto con il padre di Dani e la droga con i Baxter…. Rushing to the fire he manages to save someone’s life, but doesn’t know who they are as they run off.
