About this deal

Very nice design, was really stable to work on, spent hours cutting and fitting Celotex between rafters on them. The tower takes some time to assemble, especially when you haven't done it before, but it is fairly simple. I have been looking at aluminium ones, that fit in a car boot - so I can use it at another house currently have two houses to maintain. Using a scaffold tower is much easier than working from a ladder, especially if you’re planning to work at height for a few hours.

For example, with our Home Master DIY scaffold tower, you can use it partly erect - which would suit indoor DIY like decorating rooms or ceilings - or you can fully erect it for outdoor use, such as painting your house and gardening. I actually prefer the ones not rated for commercial use as they are IMO significantly lighter and easier to handle on your own (same with ladders). So if you have steps in your garden, you’ll be able to build this tower – just follow the detailed instructions that are supplied with each pack. For low level stuff they are much safer than a ladder for working at height, say an upstairs window -working for any length of time on a ladder will encourage leaning out too far. So you've come to recognise that you require a quality scaffolding tower-where do you meet the requirement best? With trade towers these requirements are often dealt with by a pack of accessory components or separete stairwell specific towers. For the best solutions for working at height, our aluminium scaffold tower is worth serious consideration. Some jobs, like painting the exterior of your home or fixing tiles on your roof, can be quite difficult if you're trying to use a step ladder or extension ladder. so when looking for a tower it's the max load and BS standards that we're looking for and that makes it proper?

For someone on their own an aluminium tower is easiest but it still requires two people if you're to do it in accordance with what the manufacturer recommends. Upgrade with toeboard and additional guard rails at intermediate platform levels makes these the safest DIY towers in the marketplace. For 7 metres I'd be very unhappy if I was asked to work on a narrow trade platform unless it was anchored into the masonry or it was positioned between two buildings where it couldn't possibly fall over. Most dangerous part is probably building and disassembly so don’t cut corners there but once up it makes a great working platform. I would generally tie it to the building somehow, sometimes drilled an expanding anchor into a brick etc.

If you make the effort to get trained properly and set up your tower so its nice and stable, then they are great. He welded up some giant castors to some poles to insert on each leg, so you could move it easily and set the height. Update NRW has just sent us this revised version of their original statement: We know our visitor centres are a much-loved resource among locals and visitors from further afield and. The platforms are narrow, but perfectly adequate for most DIY jobs and are easy to access via the trapdoors.

The product is flexible for different heights, and is perfect for reaching high points if you are scared of heights. Surely you climb up inside a tower – I’ve never used a harness in all the times I’ve accessed high level on towers, albeit only doing site surveys. Some mention that it's relatively straightforward, while others say that the instructions are vague and the tower takes some time to assemble. I have also looked at those really high folding step ladder type things - but they seem even less flexible. The 5m working height version comes with 2 tie ins, so you can tie to an eye bolt or secure surface for extra stability. m ish) - thought I could probably sort something out not using the wide legs on the half landing, using outriggers, tying or something and using my adjustable ladder for the stair bits.
