As the title suggests, there is definitely magick of a supernatural nature (hence the 'k') but the main backbone of the novel is magic of the relationship/love kind be it with romantic or with family. It opens up an emotional pathway for her that not only links her to the past but allows for her to lay roots and become the person she will need to be in the future.
