About this deal

Even with those inspirations feeling present, its also very much its own beast, showcasing a fresh, new grimm type fairytale for adults and kids of any era and any age. It’s a powerful channel of audio that adds additional space to an already solid sound mix, opening up opportunities in the overhead speakers while immersing listeners with crisp sound effects and a gorgeous score.

Color Reproduction: Colors are well saturated and quite lovely here with different shades and tones. But when Coraline discovers that her mother in this new world has plans for her, the old phrase about being careful what you want because you just might get it becomes very true indeed. An evil monster who manipulates and controls events to lure unsuspecting children in and then steal away their life as she sucks them dry.The film uses color to distinguish its world and a comparison of the two discs one can tell the difference.

Haunting and twisted, yet heartfelt and beautiful, it’s the blueprint for other LAIKA films to come, such as ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls. Coraline isn’t the best of the Laika animated films, nor is it the best Neil Gaiman adaptation either. It’s a bedtime story of a monster in a hidden dimension, much like Hansel and Gretel, or a myriad of other creepy children’s fairy tales that we’ve known over the years. Still, after more than a decade, this film is sweet, charming, and haunting and leaves some lasting visuals that will no doubt conjure up some nightmares. The featurette has some great looks at test footage and behind the scenes of the process and a look at each character and how they approached them including some great tests for each. The 60 to 90-second featurettes are broken down by character and are essentially micro-commentaries by the animators discussing the animation of the character. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. However, all is not as it seems, as the stray cat on her side of reality can talk down here, and it’s soon revealed that the “other mother” is a trap.

The characters are all well resembled and easy to relate to, such as the part where Coraline is telling her mum about her poison ivy rash, whilst her mum replies with the sort of sound someone would make when they're not really listening to you.Although parents be aware that this is a pg rather than u certificate as there are scary moments that whilst some children may love others, especially the very young, may find a bit too much. The kooky neighbors garner some mild interest, but she soon finds out that the house has a tiny door in the wall that has been wall papered over some years ago. Coraline – Limited Edition Steelbook is a 2-Disc set that comes with the standard Blu-ray edition previously released by Shout!
