Actually, as a family, we have 4 (although the Chariot is now retired and looking for a new home) and no car, and 3 of them get used almost daily. I also purchased a Travoy a few months ago, after reading literally every review and feedback I could find before purchasing such an expensive item. Naturally, I didn’t try to bang it up much more than I’d test a bike wheel, but for anything I was confident riding over, the trailer held up. Then off I went, riding the neighborhood running up on curbs, hitting potholes, riding on the grass and a short stretch of gravel road. There are bags and straps for various stuff-hauling scenarios, and the clip system that attaches them is very clever.

However, if you’re the type that doesn’t particularly care what others think, then you’ll discover there’s a lot to love about the Burley Travoy. The Quick Hitch, extendable tow arm and thoughtfully designed features maximize the trailer’s utility and functionality.We are moving out of the years when going somewhere with our kids requires dragging along an obscene quantity of stuff, so our use has declined, but it we still take weekly trips to the farmers’ market and the library, and as a result, our Travoy more than earns its keep. Because of those potential difficulties, it would be nice if Burley sold a seat post hitch that simply extended from your bike at a higher angle instead. For individuals hoping to lessen their impact and take a bike once in a while, trust us, this trailer will help you accomplish that goal.

The 150 cm ROK Straps were barely long enough to wrap around the boxes and I had to use the smaller straps to secure the boxes further. Specific to this example, I have Burley’s Moose Rack on two of our bikes for the Burley Piccolo tag along. Fiddling around to line up the poppers on the top case can be a bit embarrassing in situations like this. Upon arrival, the Travoy easily detaches to wheel along with you and folds to briefcase size for storage. The folding mechanism is very clever, however it is definitely a two-handed operation only suitable for the able-bodied.With a weight capacity of 60 pounds, a sturdy kickstand, and the ability to fold down to the size of a briefcase, the Travoy® folding bike trailer is all about turning everyday errands into an excuse to get outside on your bike. The Burley Travoy trailer doesn’t seem to impact riding style, aside from being a little more cautious with what size gaps you can cycle through. Once we got used to hitching the trailer to its mount, we could hitch and unhitch one-handed, allowing us to balance the bike or scroll endlessly through Instagram at the same time. If the tow arm were able to articulate more, it would be more compatible with bikes in this situation.
