I do appreciate that this is as long as War and Peace, but this is a really really great kettle once you have got over the taste issue ( but it may not be a problem to everyone ) and the spout issue is minor, but it's an annoyance. There is a concealed heating element for less limescale build-up and also a limescale filter in spout. Nice large top opening lid , for filling with water, which due to it's design, allows any condensation to fall back into the kettle. It does a reasonable job of keeping boiled water warm should one decide to switch the kettle back on for a top-up. Our previous kettle had a small opening and it was a pig to get to the filter which due to it's very flimsy design would break during it's removal.
