After the recent release of the huge LEGO D2C set of 76252 Batcave - Shadow Box, we now have one of the smallest LEGO DC sets of the year. The safe money is on a Batmobile, like so many LEGO Batman polybags before it, and while a minifigure would be nice – especially a brand new one – we wouldn’t sniff at a tiny rendition of 76139 1989 Batmobile. The small scenery corner of a rooftop has been built into a building in my LEGO street so the Dark Knight can watch over the city. There’s also a good chance that Batman 1992 will not skyrocket too high on the secondary markets since it is so readily available.

LEGO pieces make up the small set which includes a small build element of a rooftop corner that acts as a stand for the included 1992 Batman Minifigure with a moulded cape. Following a deathly quiet year for LEGO DC in 2022, the Dark Knight – at least – is said to be making a comeback in 2023, although details beyond that broad rumour are few and far between. I collected previous sets based on these films, namely the 1989 Batmobile (both large and small), as well as the Batwing. This polybag also offers a cost-effective way in adding this new minifigure version of the Caped Crusader to your collection. Notable features about the minifigure include the slight changes that have been made to Batman’s torso, as well as the moulded cape-and-cowl combo that came with the 1989 sets.

From what I can tell in the images, the Shadowbox Batman minifigure is the same as the polybag version. Both differ from the Batman minifigs coming in August, which look more like a standard Batman minifig with some ’89-esque printing.
