About this deal
When doing so, the heavy base and stand does at least remain stable on your desk, you shouldn’t end up moving the whole thing around much. No longer do you have to settle for either a fixed flat or fixed curve screen, you can have the best of both. Display’s existing WOLED technology that’s been around in the TV market for many years, but this time in a couple of sensible monitor sizes.
The controls are on the front beneath the screen and include an input selector, power toggle with LED, and a joystick for menu control. While the monitor is well-put together, and there aren't any obvious issues, the screen looks wavy towards the sides, but this is only something you can notice when looking at the monitor directly from the sides, and the LG 42 OLED Flex has the same issue.
It's similar to the LG 45GR95QE-B, but real content isn't as bright, and its EOTF rolls off sooner, meaning it doesn't get the brightest it could before it tone maps. My initial reaction was a bit fearful because it’s hard to wrap one’s mind around bending a computer monitor. Most large format OLED screens run ABL or automatic brightness limiter algorithms that adjust brightness according to how much of the panel is being driven hard.
The Flex supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync and is HDR10-compliant, although as it’s an OLED it has no official Vesa DisplayHDR certification. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.
