Theo isn’t necessarily a new fictional crush of mine and I wouldn’t say him and Liv are my new YA power couple, but I didn’t mind their relationship.

She exhibited a couple of red flags to watch out in a relationship, and to be honest, I wished she just went ahead and broke up with Dax on the very first chapter. This also really made me feel transported into summer which is what I NEED right now while being in the middle of a Polar vortex! As the project progresses, Liv uncovers truths about her father and their life together before he left. Things get off to a bit of a rocky start when a strange boy shows up in her Dad's place to pick her up from the airport. Olive has a boyfriend back home for the majority of the time she’s in Santorini having a flirtation-ship with Theo, the son of her dad’s friend.

Due to a misunderstanding and an open door, Cirrus thinks that Sunny’s brother’s room (the same brother who hasn’t been in contact for quite a while) is in fact Sunny’s, he feels compelled to keep up a lie so Cirrus likes him. I'm not even sure how to rate this because parts of it were creeping into 5 star territory and other parts were rant material. It is long, over 500-pages for a YA Contemporary, but looking back on it, I cannot think of one scene that I would have removed. I get the part where the chapters represent the 26 things on Olive’s list but does this story really need 26 chapters?

I’m enjoying books set in foreign, exotic countries in the midst of this lockdown and this book sounds like something I would definitely read! Welch spoke with PW about the importance of setting, the place of romance in YA, and her journey to publication.

Overall, the father/daughter feels, beautiful Greek scenery, hunt for Atlantis, and cute romance, made this one a solid addition to the series! He didn’t love when I spent time with other guys (understandable), and it was hard to balance all of my own activities and schoolwork with going to his games and spending time with his school friends. The descriptions in this had me looking up pictures of things like the Red Beach, the White Beach, the beautiful turquoise water, and just all of it. Even so, she can't help but be charmed by everything Santorini has to offer—the beautiful sunsets, the turquoise water, the sun-drenched villages, and the delicious cuisine.
