First, Atticus doesn't want to eat the strange-smelling mystery snack his grandmother keeps packing in his lunch box. At Little Lunch we ate a BAD birthday pavlova, Atticus lost his glasses and we had a Disgusting Joke Competition by the bubblers. This book contains three shorts stories that are sure to have children laughing and snickering if read to them out loud or as a child is reading this to themselves. This book was received as an ARC from Candlewick Press - Candlewick Entertainment in exchange for an honest review. He is the author of The Modern Guru column in the Saturday magazine (he swears those letters are real and he does not make them up).Goncha's class got into compared to the Wayside School students (luckily nobody got turned into apples) but the modern plot twists and the new take on school happenings was really such a joy to read. Based on the hit Australian TV series picked up by Universal Kids and Netflix, Little Lunch is a little silly — and a lot of fun. This book 100% reminded me a lot of Louis Sachar's Wayside School which was one of my favorite books of all time growing up so I knew right from the start that I would enjoy Little Lunch: Loads of Laughs and I most certainly did. We have all experienced strange food from our grandmothers, and not having the right clothes to dress up in.

Next, Battie comes to school dressed as his own made-up superhero, Stretcho, but can't understand why no one wants to be rescued. Based on the hit Australian TV series picked up by Universal Kids and Netflix, Little Lunch is a little silly -- and a lot of fun. Little stories, tiny stories, but to kids, these are great Shakespearian sagas packed into fifteen minutes of recess. In this trio of tales, Rory forgets his snack and does something that shocks everyone, Battie thinks he might have ruined Grandparents Day, and Melanie decides to hold a bake sale to raise money for homeless puppies .

The stories in this book, there are three of them, are the same stories as were on the show (which is on Netflix). One is about a boy whose grandmother, his yaya, keeps making Greek food that he refuses to eat, until he find out that it is actually good, and then he eats it. On my recent visit we sat together reading a bunch of books and this one I am reviewing as a promise when I was given by NetGalley.
