I added both to opposite sides of the train motor, but it looked "empty" so I also added a 2x4 brick to each side. Although this design is prevalent in the world of MOCs, this is a rare technique to be used in an official set, only appearing three times before now. There's an extension with snot brackets that lengthens the boiler, and a tile on the top of the bogey so it can slide. I doubt that we will get a new Western theme (I am still bitter at Lego about the Cuusoo Modular Western Town fiasco) but I think we'll get some sort of Western-based set next year for The Lego Movie.

Playability: 5 - Trains are always good fun, and there are plenty of lovely features which only add to the playability.

The addition of track and a couple of trackside accessories only add to the excellence of the set and make this a real 'must have' model in .

Perhaps the only slight flaw in the design here are the lack of coupling rods on the wheels, although I do not mind this too much personally. Again it would have to be modified to the point of no longer looking like the same car and I simply had no extra pieces of the dark green color so I couldn't enlarge it if I wanted to. The above shots shot the car in its original state, the "box" portion rests on a 6x14 plate with the wheels attached underneath. I then placed the box over the battery box and decided to add a 1x6 to each side to make it look like the original 6x14 was still in place. I learn from others and sometimes a connection trips something in my brain that can be used in other applications.

If I wanted to motorize the train, I'd probably make a bigger jail car and put the motor and battery and everything in it. This was a fun and fairly inexpensive little project that yielded a nice little powered train, or at least, it will once the IR receiver and remote arrive.

I hope y'all enjoyed this little tutorial and who knows there may even be money to be made adding power to sets like this and flipping them, if anyone tries that let me know how it goes. No problem - just amusing since we discussed this in the Reviewer's Academy and decided train was the best place for it since I reviewed it AS a train set.
